mellow drama

acting: 13th march 13
melodrama.
what is a melodrama?
The term melodrama refers to a dramatic work that exaggerates plot and characters in order to appeal to the emotions.
A melodrama was also created in the 18th century, and because only 2 theatres could show scripted plays all other theatres could only do plays that had music playing in the background ergo the term melodrama.
also in today's lesson we got given a latter and was in a group of 4/5 people in my group we had a letter called grotty towers, this letter said that a lady (miss Elizabeth) was to meet her future husband in the theatre at 8pm but instead of meeting him she got kidnapped and given to the leader of the man who stole Elizabeth.
in this group we needed a damsel, villein, and a narrator , and we had to create a melodrama from this letter we had been given.
